After completing a Paralegal technique program at the Cégep régional de Lanaudière, Katy undertook graduate studies in law and management, respectively at the University of Montréal and at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). In 2015, she finally opted for a career in property and casualty insurance, and obtained a license in claims adjustment.

She worked as a claims adjuster for an insurance company before joining Cuierrier & Associés in 2017.
