With a law degree from the University of California, Paul began his career in insurance in Los Angeles, as a claims adjuster specialized in liability.

He then came home and worked for a Canadian insurance company for seventeen years. He lent his expertise as an adjuster to several firms in claims adjustment, and, in October 2004, became part of the Cuierrier family.
